I use a MIDI program to make beats, and then I play guitar or bass over them, and I just got a TASCSAM 4-track. I wanted to know, if I put a line from the LINE-OUT on the computer into one of the channels, and then use the LINE-OUT from the 4-track to go back to my computer's LINE-IN, would I be running a risk of electricuting myself, or setting my stuff on fire? It seems like the back-and-forth wiring might be a little hazardous, or at least make for some serious unwanted feedback. Thanks for any help!

Some manner of proper monitoring seems to be in order, Soup.

WHY? why would you want that?
what 's the use or idea behind it?

I use the line-out from my computer to record the MIDI, and I use the line-out from the 4-track to the computer to save everything as a .wav file.

I think I'm just gonna try it, anyway.

Ummmmmmm...

You are going to have a hard time creating enough voltage with line level signals to cause fire hazards.

What you are planning to do is quite safe, and basically the best way of going about what you want to do.

Good luck.

Ya..... unless your takin the signal from a power amp, U can't execticute yourself........ feel free to touch the live end of a jack that has a LINE lvl signal....... very safe. But DO NOT touch anything at should be going to a speaker, that could be VERY DANGEROUS.

But to be safe just don't touch anything, =)
