Hosa Direct Out Cables

I'm talking about the cables that turn your channel insert jack on ur mixer's channel into a direct out...those cables. Im curious, when you use one, does it send out the channel w/ eq & fx, or pretty much just the preamp/gain?
 
Just the preamp gain. Remember, the FX don't even come back on the channel, they come back through the FX return.

Alright..i was actually hoping thats the case...cause i just wanted to use my mixer as a pre into one of those m-audio delta 1010/44 cards. Thanks very kindly for the fast reply.
 
Actually, the answer to your wuestion is a little different for each different mixer. The FX won't come back since they aren't even located at the channel, but the EQ may get sent through the insert out based on the design of the console.
