Horn Mics

Ok, I've had some reasonable success with the SM-58 as a trumpet mic, but there's a little problem. When the trumpet player is playing, she REALLY plays - she doesn't sit still and aim that trumpet at the mic. I can get her to do so, but it sort of stiffles the sound. Now, electric guitar types are easy - that have that nice cord so they can dance around to their heart's content. How can I do something similar for sax/trmpet/trombones/etc?

I've seen on, say, Saturday night live, where they have mics that clip on the trumpet/sax/whatever. What ARE those? They'd not work well with a mute, either, though. Is there a solution other then "Sit, stay"? This is my fiancee we're talking about, so I have to be polite :)

Thanks very much

I'm not sure what they use on SNL, but Audio Technica makes a clip on gooseneck condenser called the Pro 35R for about $120. I havent tried it on horns though.
