Hoontech SoundTrack Digital Audio DSP24

Hello All,
I am real new to all this digital stuff, and was wondering if anyone had any opinons on the hoontech stuff. Especially the SoundTrack Digital Audio DSP24. How does it compare to say the aardvark pro 24/96. Any thought would be appreciated.

I haven't checked into them for a few years but from my previous attempts just to get info I decided I wouldn't want to depend on them for customer support. This may have changed. You might try getting some info from them or better yet try and get in touch with their customer support because of a "problem' your having and see how fast and or easy it is to get a response. Customer service is important when you are down in the trenches of software/hardware hell.
 
I recently bought a DSP24 with ADC/DAC box ($400 total at http://www.buydigital.co.kr/digital/english/products_showcase.htm (import taxes may apply)).

I got it working after two hours and couldn't ask for more from a soundcard. I have only had it for a week so I haven't really done any long-time testing. I don't know about their customer support as I haven't contacted them. Hoontech's site includes a huge Q&A section where it seems like they're answering pretty quickly. I'm still waiting for the W2k drivers though...
 
I recently bought the Direct Pro and I love it. The preamps are beautiful, as well as the effects. I can't stress this enough. The mixer is more than adequate though takes a little time to get the hang of. The card simply sounds wonderful. The manual is limited and I am currently having troubles getting some help from aardvark over the internet (I haven't tried calling). Bottom line is that I feel this is one of the most affordable solutions to getting started with a home studio. When you do the math it is much cheaper than the DSP plus mixer, plus expandable.
 
Thanks everyone for your replies. Thanks charlie for the input on the aardvark. I am still debating between that and the MONA. Lots of tough choices to make! What are you using for a computer setup?
