I have two computers right now, a mac mini and an ibook. Yes neither are that fast, but its what I have for the moment so please no "get a powermac" posts. I use the mac mini as my main computer and I want to use the ibook to slave to a sampler or syntheziser, just to take a load off the mac mini.
I have two interfaces, and I tried apple's midi over the network but there was so much latency that it was un-useable. Would it be so much better if I bought another midi interface for the ibook and connected the two that way? What different settings should I be paying attention to to get the best results?
I always here of these film scorers who run 10+ computers together with gigastudio and everything. How do they do that and keep them all in sync? Is it all connected with midi or am I missing something? Do I need an expensive sync box to get the best results?
Thanks
