Hey all,

I'm very new to recording and am trying to build up my equipment for a basic home studio to record guitar tracks.

I currently have a Tascam US-144MKII usb interface and today I have purchased some M-Audio BX-5D2 monitors.

The question I have is this:

The monitors have 1/4' balanced/unbalanced TRS and balanced XLR outputs and my interface only has RCA inputs in the back to connect monitors to. Am I right in assuming I can get a TRS to RCA single cable for each monitor and connect it to the left and right inputs on the interface?

I hope this makes sense!

Thank you for your help in advance! :)

Yes- sounds right. I was using RCA to 1/4 inch cables for the same thing on a Yamaha mixer (REC OUT) to powered monitors. Just buy a pair of cables for L-R. You can order them online easily.

Thanks JLondon, just what I wanted to hear! I shall pickup some cables tomorrow!

:thumbs up:

Since the monitors also accept unbalanced....you can even just get RCA to 1/4" TS.
