I have a set of M Audio BX8's .. Only thing I can hook them to is coming off my Stereo Reciever. I can either go ..

1. Out My Headphone jack

or

2. Going out on the tape out (record)

i like the sound that its giving me from the headphone jack, but is this bad the monitors are powered i dont want anymore power going to them, i dont wanna blow them or mess them up in anyway..

Any Recommendations , am I doing something wrong.. thanks.

So are the monitors for your home stereo? If not, why are you running them through the reciever????????

Naa im using them for editing for now.. that prob makes no sense but.. But thats all i have for now, Chould i damage the speakers though?? pluging them like that out the Phone jack .. should i just run from my sound card (Audiophile 2496)

So you're doing all your editing via your computer? If so, I would definately run directly from your soundcard to the monitors. I guess I don't understand WHY you sent your signal to the reciever????

The BX8's are powered - I would run them from the output on the Audiophile card. The receiver doesn't fit into the equation and only puts something in the signal chain that doesn't need to be there.

Without question.

The reason for powered monitors are to cut out the need for amps. That would be the only reason to use the reciever is for power and since they ARE powered, definatly straight from the card.
