Hello everyone,
I am new to this site and very new to recording. I have put together a small bedroom studio and would like some advice on the best way to hook up all my stuff. I am not using a computer in my setup, everything is outboard hardware. I have a basic knowledge of recording and the equipment involved from church and highschool productions. But I have never had to wire everything up. I realise there are several ways and options to make connections between equipment but, befor I go spend more money on cables I would like some insight from the forum. Here is a list of what I'm working with.

Behringer Eurodesk MX2442A
Tascam DP-01 FX/CD Recorder
BBE MaxCom Dual Compressor
Behringer DSP2024P Virtualizer Pro Effects
Behringer FBQ3102 Ultragraph Pro EQ
Behringer PX2000 Patchbay
Behringer HA4700 Headphone pre amp
Roland NC-307 Grovebox
American Audio VLP300 Stereo Amp
Yahama NS-A638 Monitors

Other than a few mics and power conditioners thats about it.

Now let me say for all the anti Behringer people out there. This is just a hobby of mine and I am on a tight budget, It took me a long while just to get what I got so please don't hate on me. I will use this stuff till it breaks or I can buy better. With that said, now to my main question.
I understand I can go directly into my recorder with out the mixer involved, but if I need to record a scratch on to one channel then I need the mixer. So my plan is to use the mixer indefinetly with the recorder used only for recording and burning. My mixer has lots of options for inserts, subs, aux's and i dont know where to begin. What should go where! I'm so lost. Please any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
