homebrew "blueburst" finish

After wishing for years that my black ibanez GAX70 had some more charachter, I finally got the guts to strip it down to bare wood and slap some paint on it. I also found some nice Gibson pickups to give it more "sing."

I call this pattern "BlueBurst" what do you think?

Man.. I like the new paint MUCH better than the solid black. I mean.. I like some solid black guitars but your Ibanez looks much better with the Blueburst. =) Awesome guitar on it's own but much cooler with the new paint. Good job!


I've attempted painting my own guitars in the past but always seem to get spraypaint all over the strings, pickups, bridge.. etc. I always figured that's why they say nothing beats a factory finish. /shrug
 
well........

yeah, i gutted out my guitar for this refinish, nothing but bare wood to work with - it also made the pickups so much more convienant to swap since I already had to disconnect the old ones.....
 
Ok.. you gutted the guitar. That was probably my problem. That and the paint roller. :(
