Hey Guys,
I just set up a home studio in my garage. Its a 15"X10" garage. On the walls i have wooden frames with glass wool fit in, covered in foam and a polyester cloth on the outer layer. My problem is that every time its locked for a couple of hours, it develops a weird strong smell. I cant even enter without leaving the studio door open for good 15-20 mins else the smell gets to my head and makes the eyes burn. I havent been able to record anything and its just lying there :(
Please Help.
Regards
D

Is it a chemical smell? What type/brand of 'glass wool' is it? Possible it is held together with some of type of chemical that needs to release its fumes for a while. It's also possible that the smell is coming from elsewhere and the insulation is just holding it in place. Not sure Polyester is a good covering - doe polyester let air pass through it?

Glass wool is not normally stinky.

What foam are you using?

Cheers,
John
