Hy to everyone. I bought a mixer and mic for small home studio. Mixer is behringer xenyx Q802USB with usb interface and the microphone is also behringer C-3 (condenser microphone). Now, i put usb in mixer and computer, microphone in mixer, also my speakers in mixer etc. I turn on voltage supply for condenser mic (48V), turn gain and level on my mixer.

Then, in audio properties on OS windows 7 64-bit, i set up for default mic and sound my mixer and my mic in mixer.
I run some music and there is sound on my speakers, when i'm rotating level they are louder and so on.
When i bought mixer and mic i didn't got any drivers so i didnt install anything. But in manage properties, it says there is driver corectly install.

Problem is when i'm trying speak something in microphone. I hear my voice on speakers when i speak, but my computer doesn't get any signal from mic, and when i try to record that, there no voice of corse, because my computer didn't received any signal from mic. After that i try to put some music from computer and song is heard, but still i don't hear my voice.
I realize that my mic is working corectly and my mixer also. But something on the way mixer-computer goes wrong because my computer doesn't reacive any signal from microphone. maybe softwer, properties or something else, i dont know..
So, can anybody give me suggestion what to do? :/

i google, but i didn't found nothing about compability OS windows 7 64 bit with behringer Q802USB or something about drivers for his own sound card.. can anybody help?

i can't post any pictures, if you need it i will screenshot and send on mail or pvt ;)

thank you.

You might have to revisit your user manual, looks like there is a button in the USB area that will need to be pushed to route audio. Double check to make sure you are getting a signal. Also, depending on your software, you may have to hit the arm record button to see a signal. You should still try to record just to check that you may be getting the sound, but not using the software correctly.

Hope this helps.

What software are you trying to use to record your voice? You need a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) - recording software.

DM60 thanks, but i checked for any button twice or more, but there no any buttons. I know for arm button in software, i'm not totally amateur :P at least for software, but thanks.

mjbphotos - software is cool edit pro 2.1 ..but problem is not in software in which im trying to record something, because when i go to control panel --> sound--> recording devices and there is checked my microphone from mixer, but there no signal when im speaking on mic, those green lines not moving, actually there no green lines because computer doesn't receive any signal from mic... but on speakers i hear my voice.. can you tell me something more about DAW, is that program for recording or some sfotware for signal.. ?

actually cool edit is daw :D but there is no any voice, logical, couse computer doesnt received any signal from mic..

like i said, everything is connected right. only computer doesn't received signal from mic, not software, computer.

Hi there,
Yes, cool edit is your DAW.

I don't know if this is a hardware of software issue, but let's check your DAW setup to be sure.

You mentioned selecting the correct device in control panel. That's cool, but your DAW speaks to hardware independently.
You have to select the mixer in your DAW settings.

Usually this is under preferences, setup...something like that.

Once done, you have to create an audio track and select the correct input number then, usually, record arm the track before you'll hear anything.
Because you selected the correct hardware within your DAW, the available input channels should be available to your audio tracks.

I looked up your mixer and it shows two between Aux and headphone volume. You might want to look it up again or see if there is a youtube video that might show you as I assume English is not your first language. Might be something lost in translation.

DM60 hehe, yeah, between aux and headphone volumes is two buttons, one for main mix (my speakers), to turn them on, and for headphones and ctrl room.. they are not for mic :). Yeah, my english is weak side of me, but at least we can still communicate :P

steenamaroo thanks, lets go :D. I set up in DAW (cool edit) those settings, wavw out and wave in, for mic from mixer and also mixer for wave out. Device order, i set up that also.
audio track is there, for that track i also select the microphone device for output, i push arm button in daw before recording and then try to record something, but signal line is perfectly flat, in fact, there is no signal :D. I try with first and second channel, but i still don't receive any signal to computer. If you can understand me, for start, i am not trying get signal for daw, im trying get signal on my computer, those green line in control panel-sound-record devices are not moving. Maybe OS or something on windows i need to set up :/ or selecting the correct devices is enough.. :/

sry for my english btw, im not so good in it.

Wave in is probably your built in soundcard.
You should see an option for USB audio device or something like that.

When we record into software like Cool edit, we kind bypass windows.
You can use the mixer as system input/output (for itunes/skype etc), but that doesn't have any effect on what your DAW is doing.

and now, what can i do? should i call the shop and ask then, maybe is problem in hardware? or you think that the problem is somewhere in software? :/ i dont know what to do.. i will google more, i hope i will find solution.

Go to the vendors site and see if there are answers on the FAQ. The bottom button (since it is boxed in) routes to USB. Look at this video (in Dutch) Behringer Xenyx Q802USB Mixer Dutch Review! - YouTube, @3:31, if you see, when he pushes the USB button, turns up the main, it routes it to the computer.

Take a look.

Got to your control panel.

Go to sounds and audio devices.

Make sure that the USB device is selected as the default device for recording and playback.

Go to Cool Edit. Somewhere within Cool edit you should be able to do the same thing. Choose the USB device as the main or default device.

From what you describe, it seems that you have got everything hooked up ok, but you are still selecting the computers on-board audio.

Put your baby mixer back into its box, take it back to the store, get a refund and buy a proper audio interface with a proper driver would be my first suggestion....

My second suggestion would be to install the general purpose Behringer driver from this page.

You're asking a lot of your operating system to expect it to know what it is you've plugged into it and for it to actually work without you giving it some information (ie. a driver...). Seems to me if your DAW is showing Wave In and Out, you're still using your stock soundcard, as Steenamaroo has already suggested...

yeah, that is true and when i push this button i hear my voice on speakers which are connected to mixer, but there still no voice signal on my computer --> in control panel-sound-record devices still no those green lines such the signal doesnt come to computer. If on computer doesn't receive any voice signal, my daw cant record any voice, logical..
i have been on behringer forum and try to find something and i find some drivers.. i see some similiar post as my and more, i install driver easy and it find the same driver, i decided install it. It install in universal serial BUS driver behringer USB AUDIO 2.8.40 and sound driver behringer USB WDM audio 2.4.80

now, when i go to sound-playback devices there isnt same name as lastest, and in record devices now doesn't write "microphone behringer bla bla" but "LINE IN behringer usb wdm audio 2.4.80" and the icon is for cinch (RCA cable).. and there still no signal for mic to computer, but there is signal of computer to speakers just as before..
too bad that i cant post URL to see pics :(.. i will show you everything. but, i hope that you understand what i am trying to say :)

gecko zzed --> i do that from when..

Armistice --> hehe, yes, that is real solution but, im trying to find problem :). I installed driver from link you gave me, the name of driver is BEHRINGER_2902_X64_2.8.40.zip , and what happen i described in last post..

There's a thread in the Newbies to get 10 posts so you can post URLs / pics etc. Go use it and report back if you think it will help to have pics

i bought this mixer because i dont need something expensive, i need it for home for hobies..
