Ok, I have a few questions, First let me tell you guys what kind of equipment i'm working with.

1. tascam 488 mkII
2. ASR -10 Keyboard
3. PIII 128, 450mhz pc, Cd burner, sb16 soundcard
4. sony Receiver, Tape deck and Cd player

and the software I have is Acid 2.0, Soundforge, Cakewalk, logic (don't use) and a host of little audio programs.

Now the issue is, we did alot of our music on the asr and recorded it to the tascam and regular tapes. How would i take those songs and get them to record into my pc. I run the tascam into my tape deck and record and play from there. When I hook the line out on my tape deck to the line in on the soundcard, i get sound in fine, but i can't record it. Is there away to record straight from the tascam? Also if anyone has any suggestions on a new soundcard, around $150 - $200 let me know.. thanks

Should be able to go from the tascams stereo out(may be called something different) into the line input of the soundcard...

So you get the sound coming out of your computer speakers but you can't record it, correct? If that's the case check the soundcard's mixer window and make sure the "line in is checked". Double click on the speaker icon at the bottom left of the screen and choose "options-properties" and adjust volume for "recording". Check and see if the line in (or mic in depending on which input your using) is checked and the volume is turned up.

I hope this helps

I'll bet that Tekker's fix has got you recording now. There's quite a few inexpensive cards out there, but do a little research on the specs. I just bought a Darla24 that seems flexable and has a decent 24bit coverter chip, but is digital only (no midi support). Go with at least 24 bit and beyond that shop for your specific needs with regard to inputs/outputs, ect.
Good luck

Thanks for the advice, I'll have to try it today. I just bought a Lexicon Core2 & MP-100 v2.12 yesterday. I hooked everything up like the instructions say, eventhough right now its not working to perfection (ie. some programs theirs no sound) but that all should be tweaked when i get home today.

1. Do anybody have any advice or knowledge of this "Core2".. Good, bad, I can always take it back in 2 weeks if there are any major problems. If also came with a program called cool edit se.

Hey Tekker, did you wind up getting the DSP Factory?....its a very powerful unit....

Nope, not yet Gidge. Haven't gotten anything at the moment, still saving up the $$$ for it.

Do you prefer it over the Delta?

Whats a good dsp ?? and what is the advantages of getting one? Better yet what is a DSP exactly??
