This is not the most intuitive program on the face of the earth for sure. And the manual isn't much help.
All I want to do is record up to 8 or so tracks in both audio and midi from a drum machine, guitar, midi keyboard, etc.
I have all the hardware I need, and I did get it to record 1 track on my elec guitar through my Johnson J-station so i know everything is configured ok. ( at least through the linein audio anyway). Midi seems to be a different story. Do I have to select a midi channel each time I try to record a track?
Is there a better book or manual out there that is more in plain
english? Thanks for letting me vent a little :)

I've been using HS2002 for over a year now and will have to dissagree with you. Cakewalk products are way easer to use than say Logic or Cubase.

If you want some good books, pick up Sonar Power by Scott Garrigus. There are minor differences between the two programs and most of the things in that book apply to HS2002.
