Hi Dara - Went to your site, and mistakenly I listened to your song "Hope". I was going to say, "interesting song, but try a pop filter on the vox". Then i re-read your post and saw you were actually referring to your song "Home". That song sounds great - I love the sounds you have gotten on the guitar and the bass. Drums sound good and the song is mixed well. I have no suggestions for improvement. Nice job!

Hi

Nice song and recording. The bass is a bit thin and we hear too much string noise. Besides the bass that need some small adjustments, the rest is excellent. Nice work.

/Jack Real.

Hey, I just took another listen and have to say I agree with Jack - it might be nice to fatten up the bass or somehow make it stand out a bit more. I do however, like the general sound of the bass - it has a very "real" quality. And the guitar work is great. Perhaps like Jack said, it wouldn't hurt to clean up some of those string squeaks. Also, there is a bit of noise just before the song starts - should be easy to edit that out, however. Still diggin' the song though!

Jeff,

Thanks for listening to both tunes. I'm not a bass player, so I 'got lucky' with the base line on this one. (Yea, "Hope" was scratch recording so I wouldn't forget the melody/lyric. I never improved on it, so I just posted it).

Jack,

Thanks for listening.......glad that you like the tune. The thin bass sound is my attempt ar avoiding a 'muddy' bottom ( that I was told my tunes had). I recorded the bridge p/u on my P-bass and then cut below 80hz - sounds like I over did it.

Ah! string noise/squeaks - how can you edit out the squeaks without removing the ambience or killing the decay of the note? I guess I should it.

Thanks,
Dara

Real nice guitars.
Something about the snare though. The hits are quite inconsistent.
Bass could do with some more lo end. Not sure where from listening as im a little out of practice. Not been on here or mixing for a good half year something.
Good stuff
Eck

Snare seems to sound more consistent nearer to the end of the song.

The guitars sound right on. Nice coool laid back jazzy tones....oh yeaaah, I Love this.

I am not crazy about the drumsas they sound mechanical, but cha gotta work with whatcha got, and you have done an excellent job!!

In fact, I am going to have another listen...or two...or three...or.... :D

I like this. Good guitars and I like raspy bass! Just bring the bass up and maybe boost the 80-140hz range on it a bit.

TroyHutson,
"Sounds very clean!" - I hope that's a good thing? Thanks for listening.

ecktronic,

"Real nice guitars" - I am always working on how the guitars sound, .......I guess I now need to pay more attention to the bass guitar. The drums are loops, so I can only change the eq and effects......it's a different loop towards the end of the song, - maybe that's what you hear.....

true-eurt,

"I am still listening....it has been what...42 min!!" - I guess that you liked the song, - thats cool, - thanks :)

lbanks,

Thanks for listening.....eh!.. so you liked the bass guitar!

....this has been great feedback.....

...guitars are good... now go work on the bass guitar and the drums....

Again thanks everyone
Dara
