Hey everyone. I'm an avid reader but I almost never post on here so I thought it was about time.

Here is a song I'm working on for a local band. It's all pretty rough but that's kind of how they wanted it. They wanted that raw sort of earlier Converge, Full of Hell, Loma Prieta sound. I just realised the vocals are a little low in this mix but other than that I would love to get some feedback on some things I'm missing. I feel there is something missing from the track mixing wise and there is a lot of clashing mids but I'm not entirely sure how to combat it.

Anyway, any help would be much appreciated! Thanks again

Pink Floyd if they did meth instead of psychedelics? :D

The bass guitar is too low in the mix. The entire mix feels distant, like I'm standing a few feet too far back from it. Odd.

I skipped ahead until the part where the song actually starts at around 1:02 after listening to 20 seconds of feedback or whatever it was. I think the sound is quite good. Hate vocals like that, but like the sound of the instruments. I'm not listening on good speakers, but from what I can hear the snare is just a smidgen loud... though that's a cool snare tone. Everything else sounds really good to me. Except the vocals, of course. The whole fingernails-on-the-chalkboard screaming doesn't work for me, but hey, as Arnold Jackson would say, different strokes for different folks.

I don't know how you're going to get around clashing mids with this type of music (and not take away from the aggressiveness). There's a lot I don't know, though.

Nice work.

I'm like NTB on this one - that intro really grates, I skipped ahead. The bass is almost missing. Most of the song is that intro, so I think you need some musical substance to the song.

With Pinky about Pink Floyd on Meth. I could almost imagine a guy on a hospital bed flying through the air in the beginning. The music is not really my taste so I don't have much to comment on. Sounds good though.
