Holy Crap, lucked out on eBay!!!

I bid on an ADK TL new on eBay and won the mic for $330.00.

And now for the rest of the story.
As if that wasn't a good enough deal....when I picked up my package and opened it.....I thought the case was a little big.......Yup...... I can't believe it!!!!! :eek:
It's a matched pair of ADK TL's in the case with shock-mounts, for $330.00.

I just hope there isn't some poor bastard out there with one mic, who should have two. I'd probably check with the dealer. God, honesty is a pain in the ass.-Richie

Of course not, then we would know who the seller is and somebody might narc him out.

OK, now...here's what you do...

You sell one of them to someone (like myself) for $200. Then you can tell everyone that you got a new ADK TL for $130!!!

I was actually bidding agaist you on this one!! I was out for a bit and when I got back to check the auction there was 20 seconds left . . . so I tried to get my bid in, but by the time I got my password in and confirmed it was too late!

Nice Job. Now you will have to give us a review of these mics, I'd love to know what I'm missing out on!

Actually this might not have been a mistake in shipping, but rather in "marketting." I went back and re-read the add. it said " ADK A51TL A-51TL AREA 51 TL NEW/WARRANTY
FED EX 2 DAY, METAL CASE,2 SHOCKMOUNTS,TWO WIND SCREENS"

It did say two mounts, windscreens, etc, it just didn't clearly say two mics!!

Yeh, you're right! I didn't even notice that. I thought I was buying one mic.

I was away gigin' this weekend, so I had to have another look at them as soon as I got home. :D

I still can't believe it. This kind of stuff doesn't happen to me.

I had a previously purchased V69M crap out after three uses.
I had to ship it back to MXL from Canada because the warranty was only good in the US for a US purchased mic.

MXL sent me a new mic, but I got shit from a Canadian Customs Officer because I didn't get a rebate on the tax I paid on the original purchase before sending the mic back to MXL in the US.........so that I could pay the tax again when the replacement mic crossed the border in to Canada.

No really, I feel even more lucky now.
When I get a chance to try them out for a while I'll let you know what I think. :D

Any way, thanks to everyone for your sympathy. ;)
 
Is it "safe" to buy mic's on e-bay? I read somewhere in these forums (from "Recording Engineer" I think) that some outlets had major quality control problems (I think he was referring to the Octava MC319, and only recommended buying one from The Sound Room). So, I just wondered if the vendors on e-bay are getting less-than-perfect inventory?
