You guys know that Whitney Houston song, from the Bodyguard, I will always Love you? Do you think they recorded that 'live' like they showed scenes from in the movie, or is that a studio recording? The vocals seem to sound like they are from a dynamic, I can hear breath pops here/there, and the acoustic guitar is recorded off the pickup..so I'm beginning to think maybe this was actually done 'live', or mostly live with studio overdubs lately..? Any thoughts

I'd bet heavily that it's a studio recording.

Are you referring the version that was released on the soundtrack or a part where she sings it in the movie? They will often do a more live sounding version for movie scenes. For instance all the "live" scenes in the Doors was playback of live instrumental recordings with Val Kilmer actually singing live during the filming. But the soundtrack is all the original studio recordings.

ahh ok

I'm not sure, i downloaded an MP3 of the song 'shh' :) Maybe thats why it sounds like a dynamic...so its probably off the CD..

I think Guardian was pulling a sonusman and messing with us on that one. Mentioning Whitney Houston was a dead giveaway. :)

What's wrong with Whitney? I've actually modeled much of my life after her. Now if I could only find a black boyfriend to smoke all my pot and beat the crap outta me...

I'm not black and i won't smoke all your pot but i'll beat the crap outta you ... is that close enough? Let me know. :D

I won't be your black boyfriend, and I won't beat the crap outta' ya, but I will smoke your weed.

will you steal all my food, not let me eat until I shrivel up like a raisen?

I thought that they usually had the singer lip singing to a playback in movies. Don't they do this in music videos also?
