I record all my bass tracks with an Aguilar DB680 bass pre amp. I go directly out of the DB680 into my RME Multiface. For some reason I get a steady hiss coming out this thing when I record. If I turn up the gain on the pre just a little it gets worse. So I have to set the gain as low as possible to get the least amount of hiss but, its still there.
Does anyone now why this hiss occurs? Is this the warmth that tubes are supposed to give? I hope not because its freaken annoying.
