I found a mixer for 299 dollors, I guess it has sound effects, echo and stuff like that. the company that makes is Opitmus. Is that a good deal?

you can pretty much do anything you want with this......and use cakewalk as a mixer......get a decent sound card and youll be pumping out recordings better than you ever dreamed possible!....ive been into this for about 2 years....i produce some rap (bay area/sacramento style)i got a mixer,and a keyoard.......if you need help just e-mail me......i can tell you,ive been having so much fun since i started,its great,i play my beats for freinds and ill get folks to bust flows at partys,its great.

If you are just starting do what I did take a trip to the music equiment store(not radio shack)guitar center or someplace like that they got a gang of stuff you can play with and the people who are doing just like you testing out the equitment will be the bigest help people up there know lots of stuff and the people who work there also.That should help a lot.o yeah pick up a catalog while your up there.
