Hi guys, need lots of help I think :o

First off, I play piano so I was getting myself a new digital piano anyway. Along with that I have just bought a Rode NT1A condenser mic with the shock mount and pop shield. To my knowledge all I need now is a pc, software and a midi for the piano.

I have a pc but my bro thinks its too, rubbish shall we say.

So first off, What are the minimum pc requirements for producing?
What would be the best software?
Have I missed anything out!?

Thanks in advance for any replys.

Almost any current computer will work for recording. The more tracks you try to record at one time and mix will dictate how much RAM is needed. (As well as the software and how many FX are used).
Instead of going for a new computer at this time, first get an audio interface - you will need this to convert the audio signal from the mic to digital as well as supply phantom power to the mic. As you want to use MIDI (you may actually NOT want to record MIDI, but instead record the audio output of the elec piano), get an audio interface that also handles MIDI.
You're oging to need good closed-back headphones and some monitors, too, as well as a mic stand and mic cable.

Hi, thanks for your reply. I think you've pointed me in the right direction there, I hadn't even thought about power to the mic I'm very out of my depth here and I don't like it one bit! I've had a look at a few interfaces and they vary alot in price. Is there any you would recommend or a general price range to be aiming for or will any that handles MIDI be ok? Thanks again!
