I highly recommend:

1.Buying cheap
Recording
2.Selling cheaper
3.Buying better
Recording
4.Selling better, cheaper
5.Buying best
6.recording.

Then going digital
Back to 1

This goes for instruments, too. By the time you are done and satisfied, you are dead from old age = Hobby has done it's job. Next of kin have years of "great" recordings to ponder. Do you REALLY want to leave this kind of legacy?

While you are alive, you can always make the excuse that "It is not finished yet, It will be PERFECT when I am done"

Once you are gone, people will KNOW that you sucked.
