I'm just about to shell out some cash for a Sonictimeworks compressor plug-in because I was so impressed with the results of their Mastering Compressor vs a standard CW FX compressor. The sound qualify difference was night and day - the mix became much thicker and punchier especially on the drums and the low end part of the mix...

But here is my delemma...do I purchase the Mastering Compressor or the CompressorX in terms of VERSATILITY?? Although I loved what it did I'm not certain I should shell out @200 US for a program I can only use on the entire mix...

Is anyone familiar with these two types of plug-ins in terms of what can be done with them and which I should buy to get the best bang for the buck?? I would like to use either on individual vocal / guitar / bass / drum tracks as well as final mixes when needed...

Thanks!!
