I picked up a 488 mkii and am wondering where people are getting tapes for their cassette based recorders. Seems like Maxell is hard to find and TDK has something called the M60 I think for multi-tracking and mastering.

I've realized I can no longer walk into Best Buy and pick up a 5 pak or Maxell tapes.

Yeah unfortunately I think it's an online process for most people now. I hear of some people still being able to find HB tapes at their local Walgreens or CVS or something, but that's not the case for me.

Maxell HB tapes (especially 60 minutes) are expensive as hell online:

$60 for a 5-pack on amazon!!!!

TDK 60s are $3 a piece on amazon

Then there are these Trutone ones that are cheap: $13 for a 10-pack of 60 minutes

I haven't heard anyone's experience with these though. I've not yet run out of cassettes so I haven't had to buy anymore yet, but I will this year, and so I've been looking at this stuff. I also found this:

$0.70 a piece for 60 minute HB tape. Again, I haven't heard anyone's opinion on them though

Then there's always ebay, but the deals aren't much better on there from what I've seen lately.
