lately i have been wanting to record my music to my computer. the only things i have are sony acid 5.0 a dell 3000 computer with stock sound card and my electric guitar and an amp. I bought a 1/4 converter and can plug my guitar directly into my computer and record but theres no amp so it sounds weak. so here are my questions:

1. is there a way to record to my computer by sound, like you would do with an old cassete recorder

2. How can i connet my amp to my computer and record, (cheapest way possible.

3.is there another way to record and then transfer it to my computer.(cheapest ways possible)

i would really appreciate anyones help thanks.

I do not actually. Its not the same kind of device. The guitar port will let you play through your computer and alter the settings of the guitar port with the computer. It's not going to let you record anything, based on what I've read on your link.

It really seems more like a practice tool for guitar than a good interface for recording.
