Yeah i made a dirty south beat i made for a friend who does rapping, called "Gonna Get Back". My reverbnation page is /teinastrongman
If you wanna know what i'm talking about the song's on there.

I have a hi-hat from drumkit 04 in FL Studio and a bass kick (Dirty south bass sorta like a lex luger one without the shake?) from a soundpack. It'sz a clean bass and i like it.

Whenever my hi-hats come in on the bass the hats sorta get a subtle glitchy annoying sound. They're sweet when the bass ain't on and same with the bass.
I've EQ'd the hats to have no low freq'sz on them and turned up the high freq'sz.

I dunno whats wrong or how to fix it.
Help me please lol.

What do you mean?
I have no clue what you're saying lol. I'm pretty new to this.
I only know music through playing guitar and stuff with my dad.
overloading my mixing bus sorta doesn't make sense to me :S

The two channels you mix to... a master channel, a stereo mix, whatever you want to call it.
It sounds like when the audio reaches that channel / mix / fader it's too loud and is clipping or something. try turning everything down in the mix.

Alright i'll do daht..
Should i compress the master channel in the mixer? With a multiband compressor? Just to pump it up a bit.

Worry about your mix for now. Don't worry about volume when you're mixing. Your mix should come in WAAAAAYYYYY below 0db,.

When you're happy with the mix, then you master the song, which can involve placing a limiter on the mix to "bump it up" as you say. But don't worry about that for now. Turn everything way down and mix your song, worrying about the mix not the volume.

K i just took off all the effects on the mixer except for the parametric EQ and lowered the low and hi frequencies a bit. Mostly low coz the bass was a little bit too much for my earphone'sz..
And i checked out my db meter thingy and it says the highest db was -7.7db 0.41?
Not quite sure what daht is.
But without the snare the highest db was 8.7db 0.36.

Is daht where it should be or or should i make it more quiet? I don't quite understand these things at the moment.

Hey now. Typing like an uneducated douche is cool man. You must be old!

Bro i didn't come on here to get mocked and called an uneducated douche. I graduated in high school and passed every exam except for 1 math exam which i wasn't present for because of family issues. If you're going to comment about the way i prefer to type then i suggest you read elsewhere or simply clean up your language.

I only came on here for help because this is my 2nd ever Dirty South beat. I've never had this problem before because i make reggae music. Yes i'm not the smartest person in this forum and i'm only 19 but i don't appreciate being treated like an idiot.
I'd like to see you try and understand everything when you've never been taught this stuff ever before. I learn everything from asking questions and researching I'M NOT STUPID. So please cut me some slack. I get enough of this from people online.
