Any idea what this stuff is?I bought a big plank of it as "rose de boise" and resawed it into sides and backs about ten years ago. The closest I can come to is some kind of Honduras rosewood. It's heavy and dense like Indian reosewood, closed cell grain, scrapes well to a high satin. There's some runout in the sides that may make them a bit of a challenge, but all in all it's pretty cool.
I'd appeciate any ideas other than the French Canadian "rosewood" that could mean anyting
