Only been workin on electronic music for about a year, but (i think) I seem to have a knack for it. Mostly use buzz and reaktor, along with a multitude of editing programs. All but 2 of the sounds on I Will Eat You are from my cello, though youll never know it ;)

Already starting to do live shows, though they're more improv, but just as strange

throw yr opinions at my like so many ripe tomatos!

Okay, I'll bite ...

Checked out "I Will Eat You". Pretty interesting that this was mostly your cello.

It seemed like there was a bit of distortion on the overall mix (I couldn't tell if this was planned or if not) ...

Different sounding for sure.

hmmm-I actually listened to all 3 songs. Not my cup of tea really-Alot of the sounds were kind of grating and distorted is that intentional? I'd like to hear some melody-The use of the cello was creative, but was it necessary?Could you have got a better sound using something else? If you are achieving what you want then go with it. Music like this is sure to evoke a response..though it is likely to be negative from mainstream folks like me. I did try and if you put up more I'll continue to listen.

edited to be more constructive and less critical....;)

pretty avant-gaurd stuff dude...

Thumbs up for thinking outside the box....

Bottom line is you really can't expect many people to dig this....this genre of electronica that has a 'rawness' (if you will) to it has a small niche somewhere though. Good luck trying to find it.

I only listened to "I will eat you." To be honest I couldn't really take this kind of music in large doses but I can kind of see what you are going for and I did find it marginally interesting.....Ever listen to tortoise? They have some stuff that's kind of similar.......sound/sample selection wise....maybe a little more pleasent on the ears though...Check that, AlOT more pleasant on the ears...I think you need to introduce some melody into the music somewhere..and maybe use some slightly more conventional instrumentation mixed in with that raw electric stuff ..something needs to pull people in and keep them interested dude....unless ofcourse you are performing for a bunch of kids on a hundred hits of X.

If you like doing this experimental stuff then don't listen to these people. Don't sell your equipment dude......Just keep pluggin away at it and maybe it will lead you somewhere real cool eventually. Maybe it won't.....in either case at least you won't be sitting around here trying to write like the beatles or trying to rehash the production of eighties metal over and over again.

Van Gogh hardly sold a painting in his lifetime....I think just one....everyone of his contemporaries took one look at his brushstroke and un-natural colors and said THAT's NOT ART......A long time ago there was a scientist who theorized that germs were what caused illness....he immediately became the laughing stock of the scientific community and was ostracized from practicing science. "Invisible things causing illness..ha" Summary: by making this kind of music you may be committing "career suicide" but that doesn't necessarily mean that you aren't onto the beginnings of something cool.......but you are going to have to keep working at it...it's not there yet man...

Well said Nave :)-------You got me thinking..has anyone here ever listened to Atari teenage riot? they use alot of digital distortion and stuff but theres singing and guitars too-I guess thats what I was missing -a melody or some kind of movement. I don't mean to discourage you Number......

Well thanks stratomaster....I try.

I could of sworn there were a couple of posts here about bleeding ears and selling equipment  ....pretty harsh stuff that wasn't constructive at all....The authors of those posts deleted them..... Now that they are gone, it kind of makes my post look a little over reactive...actually it makes my post the harshest critique of 'the numbers' stuff that is posted.....Oh well, the only reason I'm saying this is to let the number know that this isn't the way my post was intended to sound.... and if kept within the context of the posts that were deleted it would have come off much different.......

Now, Numberdude, let it be clear........I posted what I sincerely thought in hopes that it would give you the perspective that was lacking in the previous posts...Actually, it may have just been one person's post.....one person eh? who cares what one person thinks anyway.......Anywho, regardless of that bullshit... the number should know how people initially reacted anyway.....as they say around here...the mp3 clinic is the so-called "real world" ...As much as I think that is a fucking joke, there is a bit of truth to it......

Oh well, I've deleted some of my posts in the past too....after I realized that I didn't want to come off the way those posts made me sound....we are all human and we care about what other people think...whether we are submiting our own sweat blood and tears in the form of our own music for critiques,...... or whether we are bashing someone elses music as a stupid way to gain the approval/respect of the mp3 clinics most prodigial members,.............. or whether we are coming to our senses and deleting our own posts because we don't want to sound foolish or harsh or whatever.........it all just goes to show......we are only human........that's the 'real world'.

Pretty strange stuff. I kinda like The Begining of the end. The main thing I would like to see is a bit better groove to them. Still use the sounds you're using but have the groove tightened up some. I agree with nave about it not being there yet and I'd like to hear this as it progresses.

I listened to all three tunes. Any people who like this sort of thing are in a different world than I.

I usually have music in my head. Sometimes by others, but more often stuff I've composed or something new I'm working out or the genesis of an idea oar... well, ewe oversit. That being said, all of it sounds like what's in my head when I'm in a foul mood. It's not good or bad but foul IMO. :D

I definitely want to hear more as you develop your style, or whatever we're doing, those of us who compose.

Aren't these fargin emoticons annoying?

very interesting that was a cello.. It made me listen differently.. props for the unnatural use of it.. it sounds quite evil..

dont know what type of comments your looking for.. I have no useful mix suggestions because it probably sounds how you intended..

pretty evil dude.. :)

thanks! though i missed all the uberharsh comments, im sure i can easily guess what they were. i love getting responces from people whove never heard this type of music before, and probably never will again. yr virginity is mine!

finding people who enjoy it has been zero problem so far. there are a surprizing number of sound junkies out there :D

the real problem is getting set up to play live.. huge visual show with tvs and other such art, computers, guitars, keys, all the weird stuff ive modified to make noises. superfun though

i apprecieate yr ears

laterrr

Glad to here it man

That sounds really cool dude. I'd like to see it. I know what it's like to be out there in left field, so to speak. At college I studied fine arts....When I first got there I was a painter. I abandoned painting and started to do more 'post modern' conceptual type stuff with all sorts of odd unconventional materials. It was funny because by the time I got to my senior year I wasn't painting at all anymore and all the new younger students coming to the school would look at my conceptual work and basically laugh at it...or at least I'm sure they did...you just know, ya know? In anycase, they didn't take it seriously...But apparently graduate schools did.....:) little did those kids at that school know that I could paint circles around them anyway, I just chose not to go that route...

Rock on dude (or whatever it is that you do :D) and Good luck!
