I was just looking at ordering some BLUE kiwi or cranberry cable, and remebered that you had the, ummm, blueberry cable? I rem you saying you could tell a difference, but dont rem much else. A search netted me nothing. What was the verdict on how it compares as far as build quality, clarity, etc? Seems you thought you could hear a very audible difference. Fill me in...

It looks great,

build quality is great,

it feels great etc,

BUT I DONT USE IT.

for some strange reason, everything in my chain is all about clarity in the high end or a generous helping of high end. at 4033, blueberry ,sytek, lucid

I noticed that when I used it, it brought out too much of the character of my preamp. ie, nice highs, but just a tad bit scratchy (yes, the sytek is a bit scratchy). I think it also has to do with the fact that I am using a revealing converter, because when I used my soundcard converter in a direct comparison with the lucid, the soundcard covered, or smoothened, the high end a bit. So I use an old but nice cable that kinda dulls the highs a bit.

So basically, I am keeping it till I get my all tube peavey VMP2, then I'll use it. COS the peavey is extra smooth, and I want to squeeze out every ounce of that in my recordings. Or maybe if I have to record through the soundcard inputs, then I wont mind using the cable, but for now, it sits pretty on the shelf.

Ordered 2 cranberries, which is a step up from the Blueberry I think... I cant belevie it makes so much difference that you dont even use it, thats pretty wild. So it did indeed increase clarity? Pretty cool... pretty cheap too, in comparison to Monster stuff. How long is that cable anyway, I cant actaully find the length listed anywhere.

By the way, still no word on the Peavey, but I should hear something in the next day or so... the place I had to end up calling is Far Out Music, about 20 minutes from me, and they will sometimes get good prices, but they are slow as hell about shit. I'll keep you posted. I'm ordering an M-series console pretty soon just to get me rolling again and so I can track a band at the same time (i need the aux outs for headphone mixes, just bought a headphone distribution box too) and then I'm going to save for either the VMP-2, a Sytek, or if the RNMP comes out 1st, I'll probably just take a shot in the dark with that. It wont be bad, I'm sure of that. I am going to get my hands on some type o Neve or Neve copy before the year is over though, I just cant get over the difference those things really make. Even on the Studio Projects demo CD the Neve just has something special that the others dont have. Its the only one I can tell an instant and definate differnce in, except the Meek VC1, which sounds less open, and a tad dead in comparison.

hey tube,

I think that the cables are 20 feet.

Hey, thanks on the vmp2. I am still patiently waiting on it. I cant believe one has not shown up on ebay, frustratingly enough.
