He obviously has issues with SP but he seems fair enough. If it were to come up in the drummers forum I'd treat ludwig the same way he treats SP. They make some decent stuff but I'll make sure EVERYONE knows that they have a history of using chrome plated plastic collars on their hardware. And never let them forget.

That's one of the reasons I knew that this mic indeed cut some corners to justify it's price.
 
No problem!! I didn't know about that Ludwig trick - sounds pretty scandalous to me.

It's pretty well known that for some time around here, people haven't been allowed to talk candidnly and open about all kinds of gear.

I can tell everyone I think the ART Tube MP sucks, and no one will bat an eye at it. Certainly doubt anyone will think I have a vendeta against Applied Research Technologies. :D But say anything disparaging about a PMI Audio - distributed product and whoa . . . look out!

That's only because a couple of assholes decided that they were going to bust the balls of the owner of Studio Projects because they thought he was spamming the board. Then it became an all-out war between the self-appointed Spam Police and their hangers-on (all 3 of them), and the rest of us.

Ooooops.

I didn't notice it was Chess posting that....I was preaching to the choir!

Sorry, Chess, but you went WAY beyond saying that a C1 sucked. You made it (and took it) personal...and the board is still paying for it.

Oh, and for the record... chessrock thinks the 797 Audio/Studio Projects C1 is an ok mic... and he has posted that many times. ;)

Fab4ever, I'd like to see more positiveness (if that's a word?) and everyone working together to help each other and etc... while at the same time being able to voice our opinions without being flamed and called names. :)

No, A few people have had a hard time believing it, but noone's been rude. It doesn't come up much anymore though. Ludwig seems to be just about over.

Me personally!? I'll always be a HARD-CORE, DOWN TO MY LAST BREATH WHILE HEADING STRAIGHT TO THE GRAVE, Behringer MIXER HATER!!!!:mad:
I've been involved in numerous arguments here & elsewhere on the absolute unworthiness of using Beh's sh#tty-@ss "mixers" which on some occasions became so heated, with me losing my cool, it denigrated to verbal-cyberspace "street-fights"!!!
DJL on the other hand, while persistent (and sometimes annoying), has always maintained that level of courtesy and respect while not stooping to sub-human levels when being verbally attacked. His avoidance of becoming 1 of the accepting majority without 1st inquiring about every aspect of said product along with questioning the product's "hype-person's" ulterior motives & statements must be admired. Though there have been times where I've read threads where DJL seemed to carry it too far(sometimes, 1 needs to learn how to STFU & listen), the man has got my respect!

Funny thing is I actually like the ART Tube MP. I think it's a great DI for bass.

But it sure is nice that if I wanted to say it sucked I could do so without the owner/CEO of ART getting his feelings hurt or getting mad and climbing down my throat.

Damn, Mr. Q., I just thought of something. Can you imagine if Uli himself were to be a regular on this board? :D Things could get pretty ugly for you, my friend!

Only guy I think we're really missing out on is Ed. I wonder who drove that guy away? Hmmm.

I guess we have a new resident nut job, but I don't understand why you guys don't just ignore him if you don't like what he's saying. He's not breaking any rules. Never seen such a group of old hens get all up in arms over some guy trying to get attention. :D
 
I for one would love to see Q vs Uli Behringer, one-on-one except that Jeff guy and distorted rumble on Uli's tag team and any member with a decent pair of ears and appreciation of good mixers on the other!

Actually, to be worthy of that kinda action Uli'd have to be offering free repairs to disgruntled Behri owners and maybe, just occassionally, popping up in the odd thread or two to suggest that his tube pre might be very helpful to someone wanting a pro preamp.
