Has anyone here built there studio as just one room? meaning everything in one room?
I am a solo and band guy.
I play in a trio and record by my self.
I have a vf-160 fostex 16 track for use with my trio(8 tracks at a time)...
So I tend to stand in the room with my drummer and bass player And we just jam live into the recorder.......
Has anyone built just a single room studio with no control room?
How has it worked out for you?

We have built some gobo's for the drums and we mic the amps in closets ect at my friends house then we biult deflectors for the vocal mics for isolation, it works but when I build my house I think Im going to build it as a single room for space reasons and the band.

Any advice?

Yes, absolutely. This is a common solution to making the most of a small space. That is, one large room is far better than two rooms that are too small to have good acoustics.
