Help!!

Can someone teill me what might be causing skips to be recorded into my mp3s. I know it must be the hard drive, but what?

Things I have tried:

Downloaded new Musicmatch player.

Defragmented hard drive twice.

Cleaned hard drive.

I dont know what to try next, short of recovery as last resort.

Any thoughts would be extremely appreciated.

Ended up having to reformat the whole computer to fix the skip problem.

Did a complete recovery.

Everything works much better, and faster.
