Help!

Alright. bought a new house and i'm looking to trun have the the basement into a small studio for recording and practicing. I have a rock/metal band. but yeah.. my family is spanish. so when i'm recording n practicing they dont want to hear it. Its a 10'x10'.. not really sure havent measured it. but i just want to sound proof it. I have some gear going to get more. estimated amount is around $1,200 for the new equipment. Need advice and suggestion on best way to do it on what equipment to get or not to get!! thanx !!!!
 
If all you have is $1200, building out the space for sound isolation is not really doable, if you want to use some of that money for gear.

So, make sure you have a headphone amp, and plenty of headphones!
 
No, Thats just for the gear i have in mind of getting... not how much i have to spend.. i'm not looking to do it over night.. i'm looking to do it right and most ecomomic.. the basement is stripped nothing in it.. cement walls n no ceiling covering.... what i have plan of getting is a bigger mixer, amp, headphone amp(for monitoring), mics, mics stands and all cables required for it. But i dont have a digital drum set so till i can get one i need to b able to block as much sound from exiting the basement.

Well - if that's the case - then buy the electronic drumset - because that's cheaper than the soundproofing.
