Well, the only peice of equipment I recognize out of what you mentioned was the Shure mic... that and the computer... One thing I just have to say is that with the equipment you have you probably could record some desent vocals. But the equipment is only one part of the equation. If you're recording in a bad room they're not going to turn out good. If you don't have a person monitoring your vocals to make sure they sound good they could turn out bad.
Another thing... The term "good computer" is VERY relative. That term when you're talking about a home office computer is completely different than when you're talking about a computer you want to use for recording music. Yeah, given the right computer you could make the vocals sound good, but if you can't make them sound good with your existing equipment, nothing is going to change with a computer. Computers aren't magic. It will take a little bit of trial and error to get it right, just keep trying. There's no substitue for a little experience.

Thanks for your response, what I meant by a good computer is, I have decent amount of specs to run a software PIII, 500, 10.2 hardrive.... From what you mentioned I should be able to record with my mic and computer but what kind of software do I need to this and how can mix the vocals with my music on computer.

Greetings..

If you're using midi, I would use Cakewalk (www.cakewalk.com). I use Cakewalk, and I don't even use midi. It's a multitracking program. If all your music is midi than I guess you don't really NEED to upgrade your soundcard, but if you want to play wave files back while you record another wave file, then you need a new sound card. That is, if the sound card you're using is a standard sound card, which I'm assuming it is. Try the Gina from http://www.echoaudio.com. I use the Layla, it has 8 inputs and 10 outputs, but it doesn't sound like you'd need that many in/outs.
