Basically, I want to select a predetermined portion of a .wav and use an effect (the stretch function, to slightly change the tempo of a selected portion of a drum track).

Is there a way I can just type in the range (i.e. 1:43.231 to 2:23:032) and then selecting it, rather than zooming waaaaaaay into the spot and than dragging to the right to get my selected range?? Cause doing it manually is a time-consuming pain in the arse....there surely must be a way to just enter in my coordinates, right?!?!

create an envelope in pre-mix maybe?...
then loop dupe...
then save as unique...
then edit wav form of the new track............

That's not what you want but at least it will isolate the area...
you can mute the first envelope once you get what you want...

I don't think you can punch in coordinates like that in edit mode....

maybe you can...
I havn't seen that function though

you first off could use snap to guides, you can have it to a selection or cue or the edge of another wav...

otherwise, you can put it in multitrack and use the loop drag settings then mix that down...

thirdly, (probably the best answer, the one youre seeking) in adobe audition/ cooleditpro 2.1 you can click on the selection (sel) where it has the numbers begin end length and type it manually in.

Yeah, I click on the selection box (the bottom right corner of screen) and type in the numbers, but I can't find the way to "activate" that command. If I press enter or space nothing happens, or the placeholder just goes back to the beginning. What do I do after I type in the start/end points?

okay do this

SEL Begin End

click on the begin box

0:00.00

Click on the end box

3:00.00

Press enter

Bingo ;)

LOL oh man....this whole time I was using 2 colons instead of a colon and a period. like, 3:00:000 instead of 3:00.000

so NOW it works LOL>

Thanks for your help!!!
