Cool. Each new song from you lately is completely different.

Loving the excessive reverb! I had to google this guy and remember the film that this tune was featured in (I liked the movie quite a bit), but don't remember this song specifically.

I was hearing some consonants ("B" 's and "D" 's for example) and even some vowels that really kind of popped a little too much. There was some heavy sibilance in there too I think.

What's the guitar set up here? I has the jangle of a steel string, but kind of sounds like a nylon stringed guitar too. If it is a classical guitar, it's interesting that it has so much top end...do tell.

The film was GREAT! One of my favorites, actually. Yeah, I think the popping has to do with the compression used. I used a DBX 160A with about a 2:1 ratio and then I compressed it in my DAW just a little bit more. I like the tone I get, but I need to fix the stuff that arises from double compression.


And the guitar is a flamenco guitar! My Cordoba 45FP to be exact. Flamencos have more treble and pop than a classical but still uses nylon strings.

Interesting on both counts. I compress some stuff twice too lately. Maybe not the best idea, but it often sounds pretty cool.

I thought flamenco was just a style of playing...I didn't realize the actual guitars were different. Live and learn...
