Not sure what's going on here. See the post below for a link to an example of the problem. You'll notice the problem at the end of the clip on the word "and". I'm not sure what it is. I used an AT2035 connected to a ZOOM H4 recorder using the ZOOM ASIO drivers through Ableton Live. The room it was recorded in was my bedroom which doesn't have any sonic optimization. There's a monitor about a foot and half behind the mic and a wall about 2-3 feet behind the mic. The peak level of the vocal is -13.81 dB and the RMS is -23.83 dB. I was about a foot away from the mic when I recorded this and I tried placing the mic both slightly below and level with my mouth had the same problem. I also tried lowering the level and moving in about 6 inches from the mic. I did use a pop filter. I've tried playing with EQs and compressors without any effect.

From the research I've done, I have three suspects: it could be that the mic is defective (I just bought it), it could be that the interface is faulty, or it could just be my voice (although I'm pretty sure that's not it). I'm wondering if it's a result of the dynamics of the room.

Help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

EDIT: Just realized I didn't make the track public. My bad. It should be up now.

Try posting a link to the track so we dont have to spend time researching you on soundcloud.

if you cant post links yet because you dont have enough posts there a specific place called get your ten posts here in the newbie section go post some stuff to get your count up.

So that seems to help a tiny bit, but it's still pretty bad. Any other suggestions?
