Help with Upgrading mixer

I have the Roland VM3100Pro Mixer with the RPC-1 card. I am insterested in upgrading the mixer to something better. I would still like to use the R-BUS interface. Any suggestions? Is the VM3100Pro a good mixer? What would be better with the R-BUS (RPC-1) card?

The VM3100 isn't bad. I made some decent acoustic recordings on it. The weak link is the preamps. If you got some external pre's then that would really upgrade your sound.

As far as I know the Roland mixers are the only ones that use the RBUS standard. TDIF is similar but I'm not sure if they are compatible.
