Help with Tascam 2488

Greetings...

I'm trying to record a simple demo by tonight. I haven't used my Tascam in 2 years. I've recorded a simple guitar track on track 1 without plugging in. I'm trying to lay down my vocal tracks and the other tracks aren't recording? Help! Thanks!

I know the machine, but really, any more details? Too little to go on, but if it recorded a guitar but not vocals, do you need phantom power for a mic but forgot to turn it on?

Phantom power for a mic.? If it recorded the guitar with the mike, I don't understand why it isn't recording a vocal. I'm techno stupid here but I've recorded a lot on this machine but not for a long time.
