I tried to master my friends song with T-Racks and it sounded quite well on my speakers, but when i processed it and played it from my desktop it sounded boomy and bumping like it was having too much compression on it.. what's the problem? i have got M-Audio's Audiophile 2496 soundcard and it has been really good.. I opened and processed the files in 24bits

What monitors did you use? Your monitors might be a little bass shy. This would cause you to put too much bass in.

no no.. i mean that it sounded nice when i played it on t-racks with all the compression and EQ's in the mix before processing it.. after i saved it in wav. to my desktop it changed bad..

lol.. my winamp's preamp volume was +12db..

Hmm.......What does it say in the manual about compression and mastering?

How is the EQ in you winamp set? I ran into this problem with WMP where I would mix something down and play it back an everything would be different and it turned out to be my settings in Windos Media Player.

Read his edit guys, he solved the problem himself.
