Hi everyone,
Just recently, I got interested in sampling/sequencing so a friend musician of mine suggested the sp-404. I just got it last week but I’m so new at this that I don’t know where to start. What I would like to do is create drum tracks or/and loops and transfer it to the sp-404. I'd like to know which program would be best for creating these loops and drum tracks.

Thanks

What you are looking for is a software program that has the ability to render a composition to a standard .wav file or a standard .aif file if you're using a Macintosh.

Fortunately this has become more or less standard issue for most audio/midi sequencers.

Start with this combination - e-phonic Drumatic and Cockos REAPER and if you have a midi keyboard you can play the Drumatic from that. If not, REAPER has a piano editing screen which you can use with the mouse.

If you want to move upscale a little, try FL Studio. It has a very easy to use user interface with drum machine-style pads that turn colors depending on whether you want the sound to hit there or not. The demo doesn't let you render files, but it's cheap and you get free version updates for life.

u could just record and chop ur drums in the sampler itself and use those samples a lot of people who do that just take samples from drum breaks/drum solos the secret is finding each sound in isolation

Can i use these programs on a PC???

Sure.

That's what I have and I use them all the time.

I'll second the FL Studio suggestion for composing Beatz.

Sampling, Slicing, Sequencing, and all-around Mangling Mayhem is what FL Studio does best.
