Hi, I'd like some assistance in choosing what mixing console to go for next seeing as it looks like my beloved Soundcraft Spirit Studio LC is about dead.... :'( I will be sending it for repair but the initial signs aren't good so rather than moaning about it I thought I'd start looking around early for a new mixing console should the worst come to the worst.
I've got a home studio running Mackie HR (can't remember the model) monitors, a truck load of different mics and I used to record onto a TASCAM 8 track, but I now record to PC through a 10 input M-Audio soundcard...
My first thought is, do I stay with the analogue consoles?? I like the sound of the analogue pre-amps that were built into the soundcraft desk but don't know whether I should consider digital to now I record onto PC? Any thoughts anyone?
I suppose my only other preference is that the pre-amps built into the desk are at least as good, but preferably superior standard to those that were in my soundcraft desk.... It would be nice to keep at 24 channels too - the number of buses aren't important to me either.
Any one got any ideas?
