help with pc mic

i use a pc mic for gaming and i cant get it to work with my Delta 44 soundcard... i have it setup this way..... pc mic->1/4"adaptor->delta 44 input 1->pc... ive tested the mic and adaptor on my brothers computer and they both work.. what am i doing wrong?

The delta 44 don't have a preamp.

pc mics need preamps too? i thought that was for recording mics like the sm57 etc.. well anyways ill try running it thru my preamp

I'm sure all mics needs them. That's why standard pc sound cards have a line and mic in, 'cause the mic in is preamped and line aint.
