please help me

New member
i had a mac before, which had garage band on (which is the easiest program ive ever come across) and now my mac is out of commission for the time being. so im working with this pc laptop and im getting this recording bundle off of musiciansfriend.com and it comes with a limited edition version of pro tools and an mbox and other cool stuff, i know protools is not easy to use so i was just wondering if anyone could tell me how to setup the zero latency monitoring through headphones, and mastering techniques... also i was wondering would i need a sound card to run all this stuff, i have an hp windows xp computer. heres a link to the shit im buying.. click here.. so just get back to me at talktoalexnow@aim.com cuz i dont really go on this site that often, but if ur too lazy i guess just post here...
anyways thanks for the help and sorry for the grammatical errors and all that shit, im too tired right now to write correctly, so please bare with me...

rofl, you bought I bunch of stuff that you have no idea how to use, you want (free) help from people here, and you don't even want to bother to come back here to see what responses you get (responses that would help others that are also starting out). Good luck with that.

i dont get notified on my email when i get responses, ok? i have work and school, so i cant just be trolling on here waiting for responses, and i dont know how to use it, yes.. that is why im asking for help, did u not pick that up from when i was asking for help on how to set it up?

99.99% of the time, the gear that you buy comes with manuals. I would be willing to bet that it will explain how to set everything up, including the zero latency monitoring. Read the manuals and then if you have questions try posting in the ProTools forum. You'll probably find a lot of help there or the question may have already been answered if you do a search on the forums.

Just trying to help you out.;)

You are not restricted to pro tools. Repaer, by all accounts, is a fantastic recording program that is stable and very, very well documented. The demo version is fully functional and free. If you like it, you can donate $60 to support it, but the demo remains 100% functional regardless. It has a much smaller CPU footprint than PT and alot of savvy users on this forum who can provide alot of help.

As far as the rest of your questions, the interface becomes your soundcard. You'll probably need to disable your onboard card when you install the interface. The zero latency monitoring is the least of your problems...and is nothing to worry about as the interface will handle that for you, most likely as a default. The manual will clue you in on that further.

Just as a hint, you can subscribe to threads and get email notifications.

Hmm... Mac user stranded without his machine...

Your first mistake was making your username: "Please Help Me". That's not a name, it's a cry in the wilderness! Once you're set up, undoubtedly, you'll want to return with more questions, as you progress - and hopefully, maybe join in the community to help you progress even further... Because learning how to make music with your computer doesn't stop at the latency settings!

As others have said, there are other alternatives to the bundle that's coming with "yur shit" so you're not limited to using only Pro-Tools. As for email notifications, you can set that up from your user CP, by checking a box.

BTW, welcome to the forum! :)

Kind regards

Dedicated sound card

If you can afford it.
Always I repeat Always get a dedicated sound card most sound cards in most PCs are not really suited for Multitracking or wav recording without some variation with latency.
