Alright, I know I asked this before but I didn't get any response. I have a Yamaha O1V, a Digi 001, and a Behringer Composer 2100 compressor. The O1V has no inserts so I can't just insert my compressor on a channel. Can anyone tell me how to hook this up. I was told by a teacher of mine that I could run the input of the compressor to the output of the 001 and vice versa and then just insert an input instead of a plugin in pro tools, but that doesn't seem to be working.

or u can just plug the compreser to the wtvr u have and run wtvr ur recording to the compresser, but u may need a preamp

I literally cannot understand either of these posts, but here's what you do to run a track on a computer into an outboard compressor. Assign the track to a physical output on the Digi 001. Run the Digi 001 output into the compressor's input. Run the compressor's ouput back into an input on the Digi 001. Record the signal from the compressor onto a new track. Then you can either archive or delete the track with the uncompressed signal on it.

When you're adjusting the compression settings, you'll want to monitor only the incoming post-compressor signal, and not the outgoing pre-compressor signal. I don't know how to do this in the Digi 001, but I know how to with my soundcard. You may have to investigate this a little.
