man my monitors are crap. i realy dont think its possible to mix down properly with my monitors. all i have is my pc speakers by altec lansing, they have a sub and two satelites and they suck for this. i think this one sounds alot better than my older stuff because i seperated the drums to individual tracks as was suggested here by so many of you very generous ear lenders.im gonna have to start paying you guys lol do you take pay pal. when i mixed this down it sounded great in calewalk and all the levels sounded as good as i could get them, i encoded them in cakewalk into mp3 and voila instant level changes, now i can bareley hear the lead guitar.but anyway please give it a listen to, its a tribute to jimmy page, that zeke kid kinda sparked me to do this because who doesnt love jimmy pages playing style. thanks guys. tim pate http://www.nowhereradio.com/artists/album.php?aid=1751&alid=-1

nice lead guitar work. everything else just seemed to fall apart... or actually never was together in the first place. In Cakewalk, does everything sound in sync? Did you listen to your MP3?

The fingerstyle acoustic guitar at the start was error prone and then shifted from the left to center? Then everything came in out of sync? Nice ideas, but needs some serious QA work. Your lead work was great, though.

cool im listening right now...timimg a little off not bad.....man that bcking sound is almost accordion like...again as it kicks in timing..nice guitar work on the lead it could come up a bit...nice wah...dang just when i get into it the timing gets all choppy....THAT is the FIRST thing to clean up...please?..lol.....all in all not bad make this longer and make it groove and you got somethin here now let the real recorders comment......

better hope chrisharris doesnt hear this..he is BRUTAL....
once i saw him tell a guy "muddle of pudd" i think that was his screenname.that..and i quote.."if talent were money...not only would you be broke....but im pretty sure you r credit would be shot to hell too..."......(yikes)..
steer clear of that guy...

jamal

chrisharris may be brutal, but he is honest and that is what you need to hear. You know your stuff so you know he isnt gonna be like that with you...You rock, now he is a hillbilly so...but I only say that with the uttmost respect seeing that both he and I are in Texas!!!

I could only echo the other comments. Except chrisharris is a nice guy :D.

Nice lead work. But timing issues with everything else.

chris harris

not only is chris harris a great guy he also is a very accomplished musician and home recorder. any comments he would give i would not take them the wrong way cuz i know he would have a good reason for doing so. thanks for all the comments guys. my timing issues will get better as my hand heals up, i had carpal tunnel surgery in both wrists. so its like my hands dont respond to what my brain tells them to do. but i feel playing is good therapy and even if it aint i will never give it up. elvis you rock man i love your music and your writing style, id love to collaberate on a song with you somtime. somthing heavy like priest style. thanks for all te compliments on my lead work on this song as for my timing issues im gonna redo it and try harder. does anyone have any comments to make on the mix thats what id love to hear. how do the drums sound this time, i know the lead guitar needs to come up some. thanks guys tim pate.

Hey Tim: I swear I'm gonna' listen to this as soon as I get home, and I won't be a dickhead like that Jamal BUCKETHEAD loser.

:D

I vehemently disagree with anybody who said I was nice. Screw that. You're all a bunch of pansy, pathetic losers who couldn't mix cool-aid with the assistance of a blender and a 5 star chef.

Losers, the lot of you...

'cept tim...he's a trooper. And King Elvis..I mean, his name alone makes him cool.

And Triple M, who is a personal hero and role model of mine...and JR#97...he's cool too - plays the hell out of a slide...BUT EVERYBODY ELSE WHO RESPONDED TO THIS IS A TOTALLY BRAIN BAKED MORON!!!

Love,
chrisharris

ChrisHarris ought to let the other guy

sing in the band a little! The quiet shy one!

Hrm...I think I have a stalker...that's odd.

ANYHOO -

Man, Tim, this just baffles me. Your problem is not your monitors with this one...the actual MIX is a vast improvement. That guitar tone kicks total ass, and it doesn't sound like a plugin to me...it sounds like a LesPaul played through a Marshall at 15% volume, running through a Crybaby Wah...which is probably what it's supposed to sound like. However you got that tone...COOL.

The baffling part is that you were able to play over the weird sync problems. You asked for help with the mix...I dunno, more of that kickass guitar maybe. I also like acoustics to be mic'd instead of run direct, but that's a personal preference, and I don't think it's hurting your "mix." What is KILLING it is the weird timing. I don't know how you can make a snare sound better, but whatEVER sound the snare makes, it HAS to do it in time.

How do you start? This sounds like maybe you tried to do the drums after the rest of the music...which would explain a lot. It's the actual drum track that's off...not your (lead) git...

You seem to struggle with drums (as do I) so I'd really like to know how this came to be like this.

:D

Lemme' hear ya'.

:D
-baffled.

damn, chris cleo the pshychic, you were wright the drums were done after the guitar tracks. all the guitar tones came from my new zoom pedal its a 606. the drums were played by hand from my yamaha psr 280 keyboard, and i did them one track for the snare and one track for the bass kicker. you were also wright about the acoustic running line in, its a ibanez with a built in pickup, i also like the sound of a miched guitar better. ive gotta invest in some realy good michrophones soon. the minister from my church is coming over soon to record some realy cool acoustic gospel songs he wrote and im a little nervous about this because i wanna get the wright sound for him so i gotta buy at least one good michrophone that can be used dual purpose for vocals and guitar, he has a martin acoustic and he aint even interested in playing my ibanez lol. chris you rock, me and my wife realy enjoy your music alot, we always listen to country music on sundays which is the only day we get to spend together.so looking forward to enjoying some of your music this sunday with my wife, do you have a cd for sale if so let me know. and by the way if you guys aint gott a zoom pedal yet, why not? the fender amp emulators are worth the 99 bucks alone, and with the znr zoom noise reduction it will soothe even the most killer pickups to nothing. thanks for all the coments guys. tim pate

echoing other posts ... nice leads, bad drum timing ... :) mix wise actualy not bad the lead could be brought up a litlle though ...
cheers

thanks all.

thanks fed for the comments. i am now working on a new song and on this one im putting tons of time into the drums, my timing is like 100 percent improved on the drums. its a very old cover tune to and all if not most of you will know where im coming from when you here it. drum tracks are complete and the guitar tracks will be done later today i hope lol if time allows. thanks for the listen and all the comments guys. wouldnt know what to do without my friends at bbs. tim pate

oh my goodness the timing is really off...on everything it seems..
