Help with making beats*TRITON*

MY friend has a triton and he has made many beats on it and has them saved. But we do not know how to put them on the computer. I have a Audiophile 192
Will That work? Whats program do i use? How do we transfer them..
PLEASE HELP!!!!!! :confused:

Mostly for editing audio files. Not recording...

Later you can buy Cubase, Cakewalk and then upgrade to Logic or Pro Tools down the road...

The best way to track from the Triton is from the 1-8 out if your keyboard has it. Otherwise you will have to track out stereo for each instrument and then synch it up track by track... That takes a long time. Remember if you track out 1-8 you will need a sound card with 8 inputs...
 
Sorry, but "upgrading" to Logic or Pro Tools is a crossgrade at best from Cubase and Sonar, and in my opinion a downgrade.

I agree.

However, I'll be purchasing a Digidesign setup soon, as a few of my clients are sending me PT sessions for mixing on projects. I'm being forced into it, and I hate it.
 
I have to agree as well on this one. Different strokes for different folks but I just feel "at home" with Cubase SX. Tried Pro Tools and didn't like it as much. Logic was a demo that I tried and deleted on the same day.

call me dumb as hell. i thought the only thing to do was . . . burn the files to a cd either as 1 wave (song) or each piece of the song seperately as waves and then upload the cd into the computer . . .

there's another way . . . dammmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!
 
True, unfortunate fact of the industry is that sometimes it is politically necessary to maintain compatibility with PT.

I said upgrade to Pro Tools becuase you most likey will find it at all major studios. Less likey to find Cubase... Or at least from what I've seen... That's why I said upgrade. Didn't know it was a downgrade for others. :confused: There is a cross software issue and I know that could play a part... It's said that Pro Tools is the indusrty standard. It does have less midi functions then Cubase or Logic and is more for audio... I just got a new job at a major studio and one of the resume requirements was you had to be "certified" in Pro Tools 7.

In terms of money, Cubase is less then Pro Tools and that's why I said go for Cubase fisrt. I guess go to Pro Tools if you really want to add it to your resume for studios and certification...

For the outputs on the Triton, I don't know how many there is... How many outs on a Triton anyway? was it 6 or something? I'm mostly a software user... But, I do know that the new Triton keyboards and other hardware samplers like the MPC do allow you to burn a CD. That may be easier. But, I'm old school where when they didn't have that CD option and you had to bounce track by track which took way to long...

So ya, you can do that CD option for the triton. Now, I'm not sure if you can burn a data CD of all the different tracks. I think it's just audio CD format. So you would have to solo each instrument and give it it's own audio CD track. That's still a lot of work like recording each track from the outputs. Anyone a Triton expert? Help us out...?

Ya, I feel you on that. Pro Tools is harder I think. I had to take a 4 year course and then they changed things in 7. So I see why you have to update your certification every year. So many changes... Cubase is more user friendly and there are more plugin options like VST and free downloads. Pro Tools you have to buy plugins and there are less free stuff to add...

But, I think it's all about what you are comfortable with. If you make great sound music, doesn't really matter what program you used...

I have Protools Free on my MAC(OS9)..only use it for editing..its def..not user friendly..like Cubase, Audition...I know what I did do my recording on the computer..i loved Cubase, Waves Diamond and Audition and I even used N-Track(which is a good recording program that you can load all the plug-in to) just got tried of losing shit..but yeah with the Protool you have to buy the plug-in..
 
I'm a plugin freak so PT with only RTAS is definitely not for me. Does PT have VST and DX capability yet? I can't remember if it does or not since it's been a while since I used it. I could use it if I had to though, but I spent most of my learning on Cubase 5 and once the SX upgrades came around, there wasn't a whole side curve to learn, just "ooh, now it can do this, this, and this too."

Yes, PT can use VST now with the VST to RTAS wrapper. So you can use all your VST plugs... :D
