Hey in this design is it sealed air tight? I there a top and a bottom? Also, does a peice of plywood go behind the cloth or nothing at all..which by the way would NOT make it sealed.

Yes Voodoo it is sealed. The only air access is via the gaps between the slats. The cloth is there only to hide the area behind the slats so it looks neat and clean.

The gaps act like bottle necks, each with its own frequency, thus the variation in the slot width and the depth from the wall.

Hi,
more questions on this design:
the hight is determined by the hight of the celling, is the widght determin by the widght of the wall (the all wall cover by the wall unit)?
what material would be used here for insulation?
is this design good for the live room as well as the control?
do I need to couple this with bass traps or does it absorb low enough (in the live room/in the control)?
thanx

John...
So I have to cut out a peice to fit over the top and the bottom? If the cloth lets air through the slats is it still considered sealed? Should I apply caulking tpo the back of the slats too?

Thanks
