Hi, I'm new to the forum. I have limited space in my home office but need to set up a simple home studio useing my computer. The main purpose for the studio is to create scratch original recordings, bass, guitar drums vocals - to give to my bass player and drummer to work with. I need help in picking out cost effective "very easy to use software with simple drums and vocal effects and mix down capability, and the other minimal requirements. Any recommendations out there?

Check out Aardvark site for the hardware, plug in, and audio card.

You can go with Sonar by cakewalk software it is a MIDI based software so you can program you drums and bass.

Computer you should get 2.6Ghz, 1G Ram and just use it for recording.

I am sure you can get other equipment, and the guy's on this board can tell you. That is all I know, I am starting out as well.
