Guys,

My small setup consist of the following, I have M-audio fast track pro, laptop with Audition 3.0 and Pro Tools 8. I also have access to a mixing board if needed.

I would like to be able to run all my bands inputs into my laptop and then do the mastering, EQ, effects etc.. .using Audition. The problem I have is only have 2 inputs on my M-audio. To record i need 2 mic's lines, and 3 guitar lines. My problem is I don't know how to get the tracks into audition individually, will I just have to buy an interface with more inputs? or is there away to use just one input and separate the tracks at a later point? Maybe there is just a better way to do this and I don't know.. any feedback would be great. There is just so much info out there it can be intimidating for a noob like myself..

Thanks,
Brian

more than likely.

record one instrument at a time. easy with a guitar, not so easy with drums. ;)

your best bet is to get an interface with a few more inputs than you think you need right now.

Right....what ^^^^he^^^^ said.

Change your rig or change you production approach.
