I recently bought a MAudio Firewire410 and am running it into an HP laptop. The laptop does not have fire wire ports so I am using a Compac firewire PCMCIA card.

After loading drivers and hooking up mics, I am getting a signal and even clipping on the Maudio's line lights. However, the output signal meter is registering nothing. On the computer, I am getting no signal when recording with adobe audition.

During the initial installation, I had a conflict between network adaptors and the firewire410. Even after disabling the network adaptors I am getting no signal.

When I have more time, I will call Maudio's tech support. However, if one of you have any ideas for a solution, I would love to hear them.

Thanks,
BM

Is your issue with Audition alone? Do you have any other software and can you record to that?

Maybe...

It may be that audition is my problem. I am having to re-select the FW410 as the wave in/out and recording device every time I use it. Then it doesn't always seem to work as selected. I wonder if this is because it is running into the computer on a PCMCIA card and this is making audition search for a new device every time I boot up.....

I can now get a signal, however, either I don't understand how to configure AA or there is another problem. I am having to re-select devices every time that I record. Any ideas?

Thanks for the help.
